THE POSITION

  • In the initial stage of mobilisation this position will be responsible, with the General Services Manager, for establishing Help Desk operations as outlined below. 
  • The Environmental Services Manager is responsible for delivery of sitewide daily cleaning and waste management operations to ensure Compass meets the Public Private Partnership (PPP) contractual service delivery outcomes, ensuring that that all tasks completed in compliance with the contractual requirements of the site.
  • Manage the delivery of safe and efficient cleaning operations across the hospital (including clinical & non-clinical areas, public areas, infectious cleaning, public areas, routine & non routine cleaning).
  • Manage specialist sub-contracts including grounds, pest control and external façade.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of site service specifications for the Environmental Services Department 
  • Compliance with Internal and External Audits (e.g. Environmental Audits, BSC, ACHS, HICMR, WHS Profiling).
  • Lead, develop and manage an effective team, including but not limited to rostering and managing client requests and feedback.
  • Monitor financial activities against budget & allocate budget resources.
  • Purchase and manage stock to minimise product wastage.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Continually update industry skills, knowledge and qualifications and licenses to maintain a high level of competence.
  • Manage compliance of infection control policies and procedures, following Compass Group Health, Safety and Security procedures

 

THE PERSON

  • Experience within a management or supervisory position.
  • Commercial & results orientated.
  • Ability to meet strict business compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Competent financial reporting and cost management skills.
  • Able to deliver against multiple initiatives and able to prioritize multiple demands effectively.
  • Experience leading large operational teams.
  • Strong focus on customer service, you have great communication and time management skills.
  • Experience in workplace health and safety issues.
  • Sound computer skills.
  • Willingness to obtain a National Police Check Clearance and provide proof of immunity for vaccine preventable diseases.

Experience within a healthcare environment is highly desirable.
