ESS Defence provides food service and hospitality support to Defence sites across Australia. We deliver high-quality meals that support the wellbeing of Australian Defence Force personnel.

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchenhand to join our team at HMAS Penguin, Mosman. This part-time opportunity is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in a busy kitchen, supporting chefs and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with basic food preparation and general kitchen duties
• Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Support chefs and kitchen teams during meal service
• Maintain clean and organised kitchen and back-of-house areas
• Follow food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as required
• Work collaboratively as part of a professional kitchen team

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Previous Kitchenhand, hospitality or food service experience preferred
• Strong work ethic and reliable approach
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices preferred
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Defence clearance
