The Position
As Claims Advisor you will report to the National Manager – Claims, within our Compass Care team. You will be responsible for providing claims management services to support multiple business sectors in achieving safe, durable and timely claims outcomes. You will support the business with a focus on effective and efficient service delivery, ensuring systems and process compliance, implementing initiatives and innovations, and working with others to improve or enhance the business’ existing approach.
As part of your role you will be required to, but not limited to;
- Ensure all actions comply with policies, procedures, systems, processes, workflows, legislation and regulatory requirements
- Make notifications of incidents and/or claims
- Assist with the timely collection and consolidation of factual information relating to the determination of liability and/or potential third-party recoveries
- Ensure claims records associated with notifications, triage, investigations, examinations, insured parties, insurance policies, contacts, providers/suppliers, case management, and the like are appropriately maintained
- Complete accurate and timely calculation of income compensation
- Ensure the accurate and timely receipt, recording and reconciliation of income compensation payments and where relevant medical and like expenses
- Provide assistance with the implementation and monitoring of legal, system and process compliance, providing feedback when required on issues of non-compliance
The Person
- Experience in claims management, return to work coordination or similar
- Sound knowledge of relevant Workers Compensation legislation
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and competency and proficiency in its use
- Experience of working with an insurer or scheme agent
- Outcome focused, self-motivated and proactive with a desire to make a difference
- Possess good time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a strong team
- Ability to work efficiently to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Possess good communication skills – both verbal and written
- Detail oriented
