We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to manage our canteen in a global manufacturing setting, preparing, and serving breakfast, morning tea, and lunch for up to 350 + staff daily, along with handling ad-hoc functions for site Catering.
THE POSITION
- Oversee and lead the daily preparation of meals for onsite team, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch and sandwich bar .
- Manage the kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient service and timely delivery of meals.
- Cater to ad-hoc functions as required by the business.
- Maintain inventory and manage supplies to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Ensuring accurate implementation of allergy awareness controls.
- Maintaining a high standard of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness in line with industry regulations and best practices.
- Monday to Friday working 8.5 hour shift, accrue every second Friday off
THE PERSON
- Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
- National Police Check confirmed by Defence Clearance (AGSVA)
- Proven bulk cooking experience or experience in a similar large-scale kitchen environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- A hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a busy, high-demand environment.
- Ability to work within a budget while maintaining food quality and service standards.
- Knowledge and experience in allergy awareness and food safety protocols.
